Auschwitz-Birkenau (Camp II)
1. Entrance, through which the railway runs (2) all the way into the camp (3), which is very vast. Living conditions are cramp (4 & 5) but you can see a heating system running through (6) and you can see the stove itself and the chimney (7). Most of the wooden sheds are actually reconstructed and what's left (even some of these are reconstructed) is the two chimneys per shed (8), which lets you imagine how many sheds there were (9). The grounds are just vast vast vast (10 & 11). The gas chambers (sunken part in foreground) and crematoria (where "ovens" were, above ground in background) were destroyed by the Nazis at the end of the war (12).
